Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Beach
A chopper soaring above a well-attended coastal beach abruptly commenced twirling out of control, finally descending rapidly and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as spectators observed.
Videos shared on social media depict the chopper starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling towards the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a steps close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five persons were taken to hospital involving two who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on Saturday.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
