Earick Rejects Tottenham Hotspur Takeover Bid Following Expression of Interest
The former chairman managed Spurs' move to the club's new home in the year 2019.
US technology mogul the entrepreneur has rejected launching a buyout proposal for Tottenham.
The club had earlier “clearly turned down” an preliminary inquiry from a consortium spearheaded by Brooklyn Earick last month and stated the team was unavailable for purchase.
But UK takeover and merger rules stipulated that, after an initial approach rejected, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by 24 October or state they would not proceed.
Verification of the decision was issued in a announcement made by Spurs to the London Stock Exchange, stating the club is “not in an offer period.”
Earick shared an snapshot of the statement on online platforms, stating: “I've had a privilege discussing with Spurs and the Lewis family's agents over the past few months.
“I have great respect for the organization, its executives, and its followers, and hope for nothing but success.”
Spurs' leadership thanked the group for its “constructive approach” in negotiations and for “acknowledging the definitive view” of the shareholders that the team is off the market.
Earick is a ex-disc jockey who also was employed in spacecraft research for NASA before creating his technology firm, which specializes in tech, entertainment, sport and recreation.
Earick's proposal was the third expression of interest declined by the club's board since the unexpected exit of top executive the former chairman in the fall.
On 8 September, the club rejected offers from previous club stakeholder Staveley's PCP International Finance Limited and a syndicate spearheaded by Dr Roger Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through the holding company.
Levy and his household own about a significant stake of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an almost 87% stake in Tottenham.
Levy was the the league's longest-serving chairman and is believed to have received more than £50m during his nearly 25 years in the capacity.
But he was also the subject of frequent demonstrations by Tottenham supporters, especially last campaign as home competition outcomes proved unsatisfactory.
The north London club claimed their initial silverware in 17 years when they defeated Manchester United in the May European final.
