Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city endured intense attacks overnight. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
